Salem Spooks Part 2

Liz Ramos, under the supervision of Anubis the cat, shares more of THE places to visit in Salem, Massachusetts.

Greetings witches! Continuing my gear up to my bus trip, I wanted to share more places to visit when in The Witch City.

Hex Olde World Witchery – This shop is THE PLACE to go if you are looking for ritual supplies and an actual “witch shop”. Wax dolls, talismans, ritual candles, altar supplies  – you name it, they have it. Hex also has in house tarot readers, seances, and various classes throughout the year  that you can partake in.

Dunkin Donuts – Yes, you read this correctly. While Dunkin is not a small shop, they offer a unique seasonal souvenir during Haunted Happenings: Salem Runs on Dunkin merch. Each year includes travel mugs and tote bags. Last year, the cups were black and had white lettering, with glossy crystal balls, planchettes, and crystals all over the outside.

Salem Witch Board Museum – If you are interested in the history of Ouija and other Talking/Spirit boards, this is the shop for you! With locations in Salem and Baltimore, this museum showcases boards from around the world, offers insight into Hollywood and their portrayal of this amazing tool, and offer thoughts and speculation over the future of their relevance in our culture.

The Peabody Essex Museum – History lovers, rejoice! The PEM is an amazing place to visit if you are into a little bit of everything. From maritime history to the Witch Trials, Moby Dick, studio glass, fashion and design, Japanese art, or even visiting historic sites in Salem like Ropes Mansion or John Ward House, there is something for everyone. If you want to experience a location not in the main museum building (Ropes Mansion), you will need to make special reservations to visit those sites, as the general admission ticket only grants you access to the main museum on Essex Street.

Samatha – In the hustle and bustle of shoppers at the heart of Essex Street, visitors can spot the beautiful and forever immortalized Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha Stephens. Samantha is sitting upon her broomstick, gliding past the crescent moon. This was gifted to Salem in 2005 to honor the 40th anniversary of the show, and the filming of many season seven episodes after a fire damaged the Hollywood set in 1970. Tourists are encouraged to take selfies and videos with Samantha.

Blessed broom rides, witches!
