Liz Ramos, under the supervision of Burgie the cat, shares the places to visit in Salem, Massachusetts.
Greetings witches! As I gear up for my first of two upcoming Salem trips this year, I wanted to share some amazing must-experience places in the city.
Witch Tats of Salem at Salem Ink – Alexis Valentine is THE IT GIRL when it comes to getting a tattoo in Salem. She is extremely detail oriented and will take the time to make your line work PERFECT. She is also extremely down to earth and easy to talk to. If you want a tattoo from Salem, book her! My only extra word of advice is to plan to be there a while, and know that the extra time spent on your tattoo will make it extremely magical and well worth it. My mom and I both planned this bus trip to spend the majority of our time with Alexis (we learned the hard way of not saying we needed to be at an event and severely underestimated the time it would take for our tats last time. We had to make it across the city in about 10 minutes – which we did but WHOOO! Never again!)
The Wicked Wardrobe – Owned by Alexis Valentine and her husband Justin, this spooky consignment shop is every alt/spooky/witches dream! From clothes to shoes, local art, home decor and more, Wicked Wardrobe is definitely a place to snag pieces you just won’t find anywhere else!
HausWitch – This is a really cute shop that focuses on – you guessed it – the house. With candles, home wares, books, crystals, incense, lighters, spell kits, and more, this store is perfect for those who want to elevate the magic in their home. HausWitch also does aura photography sessions, where you can have your photo taken and have a write up done on the colors of your aura that appear in the photo. I have not had this done yet, but this is something I am considering having done in the future.
The Ossuary – If you are someone who enjoys going to vampire balls or looking to have a more gothic/witchy formal-ware outfit in your arsenal, this is the place for you! Bustles, bloomers, corsets, blouses, dresses, skirts – all extremely gorgeous and looking like a Phantom of the Opera piece. I am seriously considering getting a beautiful piece when Matt and I do our 10-year anniversary gathering with vow renewal (something he wants to do every 10th anniversary milestone.) Our next theme is currently said to be Addams themed, so I obviously need to find my perfect smokeshow black dress!
The Sea Wych – Practitioners who work with the wild waters, mermaids, and oceanic deities will LOVE this shop! With shell decor, jewelry, altar kits, spell supplies, and more, this is the perfect location to snag some maritime magic from one of New England’s most popular coastal destinations.
Whether you are a first-time traveler to Salem or a seasoned one, may you always find your next hidden gem location. Happy traveling witches!
