Hello friends, welcome back to Horrorscopes! Your monthly dose of astrology meets the thing that gets a little bolder now that spooky season’s almost here. September brings the first hint of fall, pumpkin spice everything, and sweater weather. This month is looking pretty good, with a few minor exceptions.

Aries (March 21 to April 19)

Rest catches up with you this month, and for good reason, so let yourself take it slower instead of pushing through everything on your list. Relationships improve once you actually say the thing instead of assuming the other person already knows what you’re thinking. Once the sun shifts into Libra on the 22nd, diplomacy starts working in your favor, and disagreements smooth over faster than usual. The 21st is a great day to job hunt or finally book that overdue doctor’s appointment. Sometime this month you will hear your name called from a room you know is empty.

Taurus (April 20 to May 20)

Financial matters take a front seat this month, and small, steady choices pay off more than big gestures do. There’s room to actually enjoy some comfort you’ve earned, so let yourself relax instead of finding a new project to worry about. rust that instinct instead of second-guessing it. Your closest relationships feel especially warm this month, the good kind of easy that comes from being on the same page. The 29th is a great day to treat yourself to something you’ve been putting off, guilt-free. If you hear someone fall into step behind you, you should definitely look, but don’t be surprised if no one is there.

Gemini (May 21 to June 20)

Home projects finally get finished this month, the kind you’ve been talking about since spring, so use the momentum while you have it. Your social circle gets more interesting too, filling your schedule with plans and a little more gossip than you probably need. Work benefits from your ability to express ideas clearly, especially once Mercury moves into more diplomatic territory later in the month. The 22nd is a great day to make an offer on a new place, or list your own, so don’t sit on it too long. Just don’t sign anything on the 18th without reading it twice. Whatever’s buried in the fine print isn’t a typo.

Cancer (June 21 to July 22)

Your energy is unusually high this month, good for tackling whatever’s been piling up around the house or on your to-do list. Conversations with family members go better than expected, especially if you’re willing to bring up what’s actually bothering you. Home projects call to you too, the kind that involve real tools and at least four trips to the hardware store. The 27th is a great day for a spontaneous road trip, or for finally sharing news you’ve been sitting on. Just don’t investigate what’s making that scratching sound behind the drywall. Some renovations should stay theoretical.

Leo (July 23 to August 22)

Money matters improve this month, and a little cleverness goes a long way toward turning a small idea into real income. Your home also gets some overdue attention, so don’t be surprised if you suddenly care a lot about throw pillows. Confidence stays high all month, which makes it easier to ask for what you actually want. The 30th is a great day to chase a new income idea, even one that seemed far-fetched a week ago. At some point this month, you’ll walk into a room you just tidied and find something slightly rearranged. Even though you were the only one home.

Virgo (August 23 to September 22)

It’s your month, and it shows, with confidence and a little extra shine following you into every room you walk into. Financial opportunities pick up too, especially ones that reward the kind of quiet, careful planning you’re already good at. People notice the effort you’ve been putting in, even the effort nobody asked to see. The 18th is a great day to invest in yourself, a haircut, new photos, whatever makes you feel like the main character. Not all the attention you’re getting this month is well-meaning. You’ll find out which part isn’t before September ends.

Libra (September 23 to October 22)

Quiet, reflective energy opens the month, the kind that’s easy to mistake for nothing happening when really, you’re just recharging. Sometime this month, you’ll feel the temperature drop around you while everyone else in the room stays perfectly warm.

Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21)

Career opportunities open up fast this month, so it’s worth putting yourself forward instead of waiting to be asked twice. Your social life gets busier too, filling your calendar with invitations you’ll mostly be glad you accepted. Once things quiet down after the 22nd, make time for actual romance instead of just texting about it. The 8th is a great day to apply, pitch, or ask for the raise outright. If you don’t, you’ll wake in the middle of the night to a shape standing in the corner of your room, gone by the time you’re awake enough to be sure it was real.

Capricorn (December 22 to January 19)

Travel calls loudly this month, and for once the timing actually cooperates with your schedule instead of fighting it. At work, your steady, unglamorous effort finally starts getting the credit it deserves, even from people who usually only notice when something goes wrong. Watch what you say around the 18th, though, since loose lips cause real problems that week. The 21st is a great day to finally book something you’ve been putting off, near or far. Don’t book any rooms on the third floor, one door will lead somewhere that doesn’t exist on the floor plan.

Aquarius (January 20 to February 18)

Money matters get organized this month, and a joint venture or smarter budgeting could pay off faster than expected. At work, a little extra charisma goes a long way, the kind that has people bringing you up in conversation days later. Travel also pulls at you once the sun changes signs, even if it’s just a short trip to clear your head. The 30th is a great day to look into a new source of income, especially one involving someone else’s resources. Don’t be surprised if you catch your shadow moving a half second behind you instead of staying in sync.

Pisces (February 19 to March 20)

A work project finally gets the recognition it deserves this month, especially if you’ve been quietly carrying more than your share of it. There’s room for romance too if you’ve been waiting for the right moment to commit, so don’t let it pass you by. A financial matter also resolves itself by the 26th, one way or another. The 10th is a great day to make something official, whatever that looks like for you, professionally or otherwise. The Full Moon lands in your own sign this year, on the 26th, and sometime that night you’ll hear water running somewhere in the house with every faucet turned off.
