NINETOES VS. WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT REMASTERED

Ninetoes was doomscrolling last night and came across a tasty tidbit of gamer news surrounding the grimdark of THE WITCHER series!

Hey there, gamers! It is your old pal, Ninetoes, coming to you from Ninetoes HQ with a look at some Witcher 3 news. I have my controller in hand, and my thinking cap on, so let’s get to it!

Gamescom 2026 started Tuesday, August 25, 2026, and Witcher fans got some great news!

Okay, so anyone who owns the game Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, mark your calendars. On September 29, 2026 (a little over a month from now), there is going to be a remastered update for the game that will be FREE for all owners of the game. You read that correctly: the remastered version update of the game will be free for all owners of the game.

The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt released on May 19, 2015, and became an instant hit. I was there, boots on the ground back then, and immediately fell in love with it. The story, graphics, music, all of it, blew me away. It originally released for PC, XBOX One, and PlayStation 4. It released on Nintendo Switch on October 19, 2019.

The remastered version of this game will be available for PC, XBOX X/S, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch 2. Here is what we can expect: Upgraded visuals, lighting, and ray tracing support; Improved combat, movement, and mount handling; a revamped skill tree and Witcher sign effects; new finishers; and enhanced monster behaviors.

The DLC expansions: Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine will be included in the remastered update. A new expansion, Songs of the Past, is scheduled for release sometime in 2027. AND, The Witcher 4 is scheduled for some time in 2028.

When the remastered update releases on September 29, I will give a first impressions look at it.
