MUMU VS. BLOOD OF THE WOLFMAN

The Blood of the Wolf Man will be fully released in June of 2026, but in the meantime, this is the vapors of what I’ve read. The plot is just beginning,and it has a double storyline; one on the surface and one just beneath that is a bit more complex. I can see both perspectives.

It reads as a coming-of-age story. A new college student named Adam joins a party to make friends. Then everything goes south from there, where his father picks him up from the hospital the next day. His father uses generational guilt-trips on him and insists that Adam saw and did nothing; that he was hallucinating like before. Then, at the end, Adam vomits onto the floor.

However, if looked closely enough, there are elements of anti-facism in the work as well. Within the story, after the scene at the hospital, his father becomes authoritative, nearly stripping Adam of his ability to answer questions to the police or nurses. His father speaks to him as if he was a disgrace for leaving the family business to go to college, forcing subordination of Adam’s interests. This also represents a strong suppression of opposition; his father already opposed him leaving in the first place, after all. In the end, his father wanted to keep the status quo; he was the head of the household, and his family would all be disappointed in Adam for not acting in the interests of the family. A dictatorial leader, who demands that Adam hallucinated the whole event and to get help from the family physician.

It’s hinted that the father knows exactly what is going on in the background details. The wolves gathering, the full moon… He is purposefully withholding the information from the college student, acting like it’s normal for the college student to be like this; it happened to his wife and his younger son too. Although that is still shrouded in mystery as to what exactly happened to them. Perhaps another victim of these ‘black-outs’ Adam has. Let’s hope that Adam wises up and learns about everything his father has been hiding from him; otherwise the consequences seem grim.

The question remains: is the father a fascist in disguise and Adam anti-facist, trying to break out of his hold? Or is Adam a stubborn child who has no idea what the consequences will be while his father hides the truth in the dark?
