Ninetoes went to the courtroom for Karen Page’s trial on Disney+, and boy, did he ever get a surprise!

A trial close to Matt Murdock’s heart grabs the city’s attention.

Starring Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Margarita Levieva

Hey there, television lovers. It is your old pal, Ninetoes, coming to you from Ninetoes HQ. Today, I am looking at episode seven of Daredevil: Born Again. I have coffee in my system, and my thinking cap on, so let’s get to it!

Let me ask a question…what grounds you? What is it that keeps you from going totally bat-shit crazy and torching your entire life?

Wilson Fisk lost his grounding force. Without Vanessa, what kind of man is he going to become?

Matthew Murdock’s grounding force is in jail, and the hell of it all is, Fisk made it legal…and she is going on trial. All eyes are on this trial. If only a certain blind lawyer could be found to help in her defense…

Then there is Daniel Blake (Michael Gandolfini…more on him in a moment) and BB Urich (Genneya Walton). Daniel finds out about BB’s extra-curricular activities and targets are on their backs. Daniel has a choice; will he make the right one?

Then there is a meeting of sorts between Karen Page (Matthew Murdock’s current flame) and psychiatrist Heather Glenn (Matt’s ex)…To quote the great George Takei…Ohhhhhhhhh my!

Two “L’s” sum up this episode: Love and Loyalty. Who do we give our love to? Who do we give our loyalty to? Are they the same people? Are we led astray? These are the questions I was asking myself as I watched this episode. Let’s add to this by adding the initial question: Do they ground me? Personally, for me, they do. For the purposes of this show, love and loyalty can drive people bananas, total fuck-nuts crazy! Just look at Mayor Fisk…

Speaking of Fisk, has anyone taken note of the color change of his attire? In the beginning, Fisk wore the Kingpin’s white suits. When Vanessa went to the hospital, he went to blue suits, now he is the man in black. Sure, we can say this is his mourning period, but personally, I feel like something dark is on the horizon.

For acting, I have to tip my hat to Michael Gandolfini, son of the late James Gandolfini (yes, THAT James Gandolfini). He definitely inherited his dad’s acting chops. On the downside, every time I see him. I start singing The Sopranos theme song. He really gave a hell of a performance in this episode.

The writing was excellent, as usual. Instead of superhero action, we got more courtroom drama. This serves as a calm before the storm of the season finale. Sure, it is tense, and I got the feeling that we are on the verge of all hell breaking loose.

One more episode, dear friends. One more to go.

On the plus side, season three has been greenlit.

Until the next time, I bid you happy viewing!
