Ninetoes vs. MAUL: SHADOW LORD EP107 & 108

Ninetoes thought that he was ready for the next two episodes of Star Wars: Maul: Shadow Lord on Disney+. He could very well have been mistaken. At least he can exhale now.

As enemies close in, Maul is forced to take a stand. (Episode 07)

A hasty escape plan proves dangerous, while an isolated Maul regroups. (Episode 08)

Directed by Steward Lee, Brad Rau, and Saul Ruiz

Starring Sam Witwer, Ben Diskin, and Brandon Blum

Hey there, television lovers. It is your old pal, Ninetoes, coming to you from Ninetoes HQ. Today, I am looking at episodes seven and eight of Star Wars: Maul: Shadow Lord. I have coffee in my system, and my thinking cap on, so let’s get to it!

You should know at the outset that episode seven is ACTION PACKED. Sure, it is 25 minutes or so, but you cannot afford to take your eyes off the screen for a moment. If you need to pee, get a snack, or a drink, do so before you start this episode.

Episode eight has plenty of action as well, but we got more of a glimpse into Maul’s psyche, and it is very interesting, to say the least. We get all of the path to the dark side with Maul in this episode: Fear/Anger/Hate/Suffering. It is funny to say this about a villainous character such as Maul, but I found myself…caring about him. For a few moments, his darkness is stripped away as we see how he got to be who he is.

The writing in this show is propelling it forward at a dizzying speed. The writers have mastered the essence of Maul and the spirit of the Star Wars universe to bring us a top-tier experience. All of the episodes have been hallmarks in excellence, and we have two more to go, so please, don’t drop the ball!

The animation is another hallmark in excellence. Everything flows effortlessly to give the viewer a stunning experience. It is easy to see that the creator cared deeply for their subject. You can almost taste the grit and grime that is the city, and underground.

The voice acting is live-action worthy. No one overacts, and everyone is on par with each other. That is to say, again, top-tier excellence.

This show is a Star Wars lover’s dream. If you have not started it yet, I encourage you to do so, especially before next week, when the final two episodes will be released.

Until the next time, I bid you happy viewing!
