Ninetoes set sail for news of an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake. What news did he come back with?
Hey there, gamers! It is your old pal, Ninetoes, coming to you from Ninetoes HQ with a look at some Assassin’s Creed news. I have my controller in hand, and my thinking cap on, so let’s get to it!
For months, I have been hearing rumors of a remake of the fan-favorite Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. The news has reported on the on-again/off-again status of this project, and last week, we got the final word. Not only is it being made, but it will be released on July 9, 2026.

Yes, you read that correctly. The title of this remake is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynched. It will be available for the PC, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X/S. There has not been any confirmation for the Nintendo Switch 2.
This is going to be a remake, and not a remaster. The difference is that a remaster would update graphics, and that is it. This being a remake, fans can look forward to a game that focuses on the pirate and assassin adventures of Edward Kenway. The modern-day sequences are taken out. New characters and storylines will be introduced.
Some features fans can look forward to are improved graphics, dynamic weather sequences, and improved naval combat that will be more in line with current Assassin’s Creed games like Odyssey and Shadows. That being said, this is going to be a solo player game.

There has not been a report of the pricing, but this will be a major release for Ubisoft, so you can probably expect a base game going for $69.99 and on up, and the levels go up.
Personally, I am excited for this game, and am hopeful that it will inspire a remake of the earlier games like the Ezio saga beginning in Assassin’s Creed II and Connor’s story in Assassin’s Creed III. Both games were remastered and not remade.
Until the next time, keep your controller tuned and your hands dry. I bid you happy gaming!
