NINETOES VS. STARFIELD

Ninetoes is soaring among the stars in STARFIELD and is excited for what is coming on April 7, 2026!

Hey there, gamers! It is your old pal, Ninetoes, coming to you from Ninetoes HQ with a look at what is coming up in 2026 for Bethesda’s game, Starfield. I have coffee in my system, and my thinking cap on, so let’s get to it!

I am going to be upfront and say that I am a fan of Bethesda Games. I regularly play Elder Scrolls OnlineFallout 76, and Starfield. When I am feeling nostalgic, I delve into all of the Wolfenstein games, Doom, Skyrim…you get the idea. Where other players bitch and complain about any Bethesda game, or upcoming game, I am sitting here in breathless anticipation, saying “BRING IT!!!”

For months, I have been hearing rumors of “Starfield 2.0!” much like what CD Projekt Red did for Cyberpunk 2077 (which was a buggy mess from the jump!). Now, I will be the first to admit that there is always room for improvement, but that goes for any game. But Starfield does not need the 2.0 treatment, at least in my opinion. That being said, we are getting some updates and expansions, so here is what we can expect…

On April 7, 2026, Starfield is coming to the PlayStation 5! Along with this release, we will be getting the FREE LANES update and THE TERRAN ARMADA DLC.

The Free Lanes update is going to eliminate some of the cut screen activity players have experienced while piloting their spacecraft and give the players more control while piloting their ships in the star systems they can travel to. (I wonder if I can just crash my ship head-on into a planet now…I will have to test that out!) In any event, I am looking forward to this blast of freedom.

The Terran Armada DLC brings a robotic faction to the settled systems. It is a bit smaller than the Shattered Space DLC, but it will bring new enemies and missions to a self-contained story arc.

While this is not the end-all, be-all 2.0 overhaul fans have been looking for, it is showing that Bethesda is listening to the fans, and they are trying to improve our overall gaming experience.

The PlayStation 5 standard edition of Starfield will be $50. The Premium Edition will be $70. Comparable to the prices on XBOX. If you want to be able to play SHATTERED SPACE and THE TERRAN ARMADA, you will need to get the premium edition, or be prepared to pay $20 for SHATTERED SPACE and $10 for THE TERRAN ARMADA.

Until the next time, I bid you happy gaming!
