Spring Spiritual Self-Care

Liz Ramos, under the supervision of Clover the cat’s spirit, talks about the spring cleaning aspect of spiritual self-care

Greetings Witches! With the world being a little extra heavy right now despite Spring descending onto us, it is the perfect time to do some self-care rituals to make sure we are ready and aligned with the sunshine.

If you’re in Central NY, the past few days have been wonderfully warm and sunny. Take advantage of this! Open those windows for some fresh air and sun purification, take a walk downtown, or ever sit with a cup of happiness and just watch the birds. Sunshine is an amazing energizer, and we can use it in manifestation meditation rituals. Start your day (or anytime in the day) by sitting in some sunshine. As you soak in the rays, draw the blessings you want to manifest to you in those rays, big or small. As I write this, I am drawing productivity, peace, and prosperity to me. I am manifesting how amazing my veggie and cheese egg bake is going to taste as it’s baking, all the healthy choices I will make today, and how grateful I am to the universe that I have my health, home, and ability to provide nutritious foods to my family in the comforts of our hearth. I am also excited about the opportunity later to go for a walk – and may even drop off my severely overdue library books on the way!

If you’re in a space where you can put your feet on the ground outside, spend some time grounding. As we and the earth both have magnetic pulses, we draw to each other. Allow the earth to pull all negativity and non-alignment from your body. Mother Gaia is always here for us and to take away our troubles, after all. When you are finished, tell her thank you for always being there, and leave an offering.

Working again with the sun, make some sun water or tea. This is best started early in the day. Put a glass or pitcher directly in some sunlight (in a window or outdoors) and let your water soak up those wonderful sun beams. If you are brewing tea, this will take several hours, but I PROMISE that the taste and the sun’s strength are worth the wait. If you just make regular water, you can drink immediately after letting it sit in the sun for a while, or you can use it in bath water, cleaning water, simmer pots, face cleaning, or save for later spellwork. Sun water is amazing for bringing in great vibes.

Use the spring newness to your advantage and bring in the positivity, growth, and potential for anything and everything to be created. Allow the darkness and heaviness of winter and the world to slip away in the sunshine. All is not lost. Blessed be witches.
