Ninetoes was excited for the preview of Fallout 76’s Season24, but is it living up to his Cryptid expectations?
Hey there, gamers! It is your old pal, Ninetoes, coming to you from Ninetoes HQ with a look at Season 24 of Fallout 76. I have coffee in my system, and my thinking cap on, so let’s get to it!
Ladies and gentlemen, guys and ghouls, season 24 is upon us, and with it came some changes I want to address. The theme has two titles…Backwoods and Rip Daring and the Cryptids From Beyond the Cosmos. When you go to the seasonal rewards map, everything is geared towards outer space, Rip Daring, and aliens. There are some fun rewards offered, so jump on it and level your score up!

The first change I want to address is your PIP BOY. It performs more smoothly, and there have been some changes made in the menu. Your plans will now be found in the Recipe Book, and your Perks and Effects are now in separate spaces.
The Second change is the events. We now have two separate events to join. One is Activities, which are low-level events, and Public Events, where the rewards are greater. One addition to the public events are the Party Crashers, a higher-level (4-star) creature that will drop greater rewards if defeated. This season brought Bigfoot along, and he only spawns as a party crasher, and not all the time. You WILL NOT encounter Bigfoot in the wild…yet.
The Third change is for Armor Sets. Some sets have been re-leveled for damage taken. Also Armor and Power armor stored in your stash box will weigh 90% less. So, if you noticed a change in your weight in the stash box from season 23 to the new one, this is the reason why. Example: Monday, the weight in my stash box was 1190, and yesterday it was 928.
The Fourth change is in weapons. Some underused named weapons have had changes made to be more useful in the wasteland. Also, the Cursed weapons (The Elder’s Mark and Holy Fire) can now have the curses changed out with a different mod. Also, self-damage dealt from a weapon that has explosives as an effect has been reduced by 90%.
The Fifth change…removing Legendary Perk cards will no longer cost perk points to remove!!!! Also, some perk cards have changed titles and effects, so look at your builds to see if there are any major changes.
The Sixth change is in Raids. The damage dealt in Raids has been reduced to increase survivability.
The Seventh change is that we can now acquire C.A.M.P. titles that are similar to player titles. You can get these either in the Atomic Shop or at events.
The Final Change is in the maps gotten from the U-Mine It vending machines. These maps, Excavator, Miner’s, and Prospector’s, can now be gotten from Public Events.
I play Fallout 76 at least two hours a day, and as a fan and player, I appreciate these changes. I have already encountered Bigfoot twice, and he has cleaned my clock twice. The dude is huge and swings a tree trunk for a weapon. If you get hit by him, you will believe a person can fly, whether in power armor or not.
There is one change I would like to see, and I am sure there are people who will agree with me on this…I subscribe to Fallout First, which does give me Atoms for the Atomic Shop and in-game rewards, but it would be nice if they could take away the weight limitations in my stash as well. Who here agrees with me?
Until the next time, fellow Wastelanders, keep your head on a swivel, your ammo topped off, and your damage less.
