Ninetoes previews the next FALLOUT 76 season, and it’s rather… cryptid?
Hey there, gamers! It is your old pal, Ninetoes, coming to you from Ninetoes HQ with a look at season 24 of Fallout 76. I have coffee in my system, and my thinking cap on, so let’s get to it!
Mark your calendars for March 3, 2026. That is when Season 24 starts. There will be a big update before the season starts, which usually starts around 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Seasoned players know the servers will be down for maintenance, so please be prepared for that.
Season 24 is shaping up to be an exciting season. The title for the update this season is Backwoods, and the theme for the season is going to be “Rip Daring and the Cryptids From Beyond the Cosmos”. Cryptids play a big role in the Fallout 76 universe, and this season we will be getting a new one…Bigfoot! Yes, you read that correctly. Bigfoot is coming to Appalachia. Sure. He is known to reside in the Pacific Northwest, but he can get around, right?

Events are going to be overhauled this season. The smaller non-public events will be called “Activities” and will have their own icon in the lower left-hand portion of the map alongside Daily Operations and Public Events. The number of enemies will be adjusted according to player levels to provide a greater challenge for seasoned players.
The base rewards for Activities and Public Events will change as well. For the Activities, you can look forward to: 75 caps, a chance for a legendary item and one regional item or mod, a chance to receive 1 or 2 Legendary Modules.
The base rewards for Public events are: 150 caps, Two Legendary Items, and 3-5 Legendary Modules, Three Treasury Notes, one U-Mine-It map, 1-3Improved Bait (for fishing quests), Uninvited Guests, and 4-star encounters. Completing these quests has a chance to spawn a “Special Creature” that will be more difficult and will drop extra rewards.
One of the biggest changes will happen in weapons, and one in particular. The Plasma Caster is being upgraded with new mods: A Short Scope, Splitter Barrel, Automatic Barrel, and a Burning Receiver. These are the changes fans have been wanting for a long time! (Especially the automatic barrel!)
The season map is shown below:
As a fan of the game, I can honestly say that the changes that have been happening and will be coming will make the game even better to play! If you have not tried Fallout 76, now is the time to jump in. The community is friendly, especially to newer players. We want you to enjoy the game and become a long-time member! Welcome to the Wasteland!
Until the next time, I bid you happy gaming!
