The season finale of FALLOUT hit Prime on Tuesday, but did it deliver all Ninetoes had hoped for?
And the winner is….
Directed by Frederick E.O. Toye
Written by Karey Dornetto
Starring Ella Purnell, Kyle McLachlan, and Walton Goggins

Hey there, television lovers. It is your old pal, Ninetoes, coming to you from Ninetoes HQ. Today, I am looking at the season finale of Fallout I have coffee in my system, and my thinking cap on, so let’s get to it!
Well, the season finale came and went, and now I will sit here, in my corner, and wait for season three…waddya mean I have to write a review? I’m on strike here….contract? I signed a contract?…yeah, I can sit and sulk later…okay…OKAY!…
Alrighty, guys and gals, enough discussing things amongst myself. The SEASON finale aired Tuesday night and it was a doozy!
Remember the legion from the beginning of the season? They are back, the infighting has ceased, and they have a new Caesar (pronounced KAI ZAR), and they have a new mission: Take over New Vegas and establish Caesar’s Palace (I cannot make this up).
Maximus is still fighting the deathclaws. Yeah, I realize I said the plural. These things are multiplying like rabbits. He discovers another aspect of his power armor that gives him the upper hand for a while. All good things must end, and he eventually has to get out of the armor. Now, he could run with the rest of the people, but my boy Maximus has balls for days! He picks up a roulette wheel and a pool cue. My Man! He is willing to go the distance!
Lucy is face-to-face with the plugged-in head of Representative Welch. As if that is not horrifying enough, the head begs Lucy to kill it. This leads to a confrontation with her father, who has a plan for her involving one of his little mind-controlling chips.
The Ghoul finally learns about the fate of his family. We also learn of what happened to Cooper Howard after he gave cold fusion to the President of the United States, and it lives up to the Red Scare era of 1950’s America.
We find out who Steph (and consequently Hank) was working for, and it is the one faction fans (well, at least me) have been waiting for.
THEN there is Norm, and his merry band of thawed-out misfits who are still trying to figure out what to do with him. Yeah, it is looking like a death sentence until an elevator button is pressed.
Some story lines were tied up, but in the process, it opened up other ones. This was a SEASON finale, not a SERIES finale. As much as I have mentioned, it is only the tip of the spear for a packed episode that made my heart jump for joy. This whole season was a love letter to the game franchise fans. Sure, there are “canon” purists who are still shaking their heads, but on the whole everyone should be happy. The story for the season as a whole was well done.
The acting was fantastic. There should be award nominations for this show in that respect. Everyone delivered. EVERYONE! For this episode, I have to tip my hat to Kyle McLachlan. If you do not even tear up because of him in this episode, you have no heart. Yeah, I said it!
One final thing before I go. In a gaming article, I mention a mysterious countdown to the final episode. Fans of the gaming franchise speculated that we would either get a silent drop in the form of a remake of Fallout New Vegas or Fallout 3. Others said it would be at the very least, an announcement of either game coming very soon. What we got was some behind-the-scenes content for the episode. Surprise?
On the plus side, I hear a rumor that there will be a season three, and it is very close to filming!
Until the next time, I bid you happy viewing!
