Canadian Correspondent Chrissy has spoiler free thoughts on Episode 503 of Stranger Things… “The Turnbow Trap”
A Spoiler-Free Review
Erica’s back, bitches, and she is SO ready to save the day!
We’re now on Episode 3 of the final season of Stranger Things, and the last battle against Vecna in the Upside-Down version of Hawkins is drawing near. I fear some of our favorites won’t make it to the end, and although “The Turnbow Trap” was a little slower in its pacing than I would have liked, it still delivered a lot of awesome moments.

Here are some spoiler-free highlights to look forward to:
Throughout the series, Lucas’s little sister Erica, brilliantly played with the most endearing amount of ’tude by Priah Ferguson, has been a standout. So, when the gang calls on her to help with a minor, drug-induced kidnapping (with a pie, no less), of course she’s all in. Erica is ready for action, and she doesn’t disappoint viewers or the group.
Their goal? To save Derek Turnbow, Holly’s bully of a classmate who, according to Will, who is becoming more and more tuned in to Vecna’s intentions, is his next target.
Winona Ryder’s Joyce is doing her darndest to handle Derek’s obstinate personality, and the group even gets a batch of new weapons to help take down Vecna. These scenes are peak Stranger Things comedy: fan-favorite group dynamics adding levity to the seriousness of their situation.
Will and Robin share a moment when Robin opens up and tells him her coming-out story. It gives these two a chance to form a natural friendship and bond.
Meanwhile, Dustin’s grief for Eddie is still on full display, and he and Steve find themselves on the outs with each other.
There are plenty of predictions online about which characters won’t survive the season. My current top runners are Steve, Robin, and Hopper. Steve and Robin are beloved in the same way Eddie Munson was, and I can imagine Steve having a final moment with Nancy to profess his love, before he is taken from her. and Hopper’s arc feels like it’s coming to an end. Saving Eleven from Vecna and the military, and finally reuniting with the daughter he lost to cancer.
I have zero evidence for this, these are absolutely not spoilers, just the vibes I had while watching this episode.
And one last tease, Holly has found Max. Sadie Sink is back, and there is still a lot of mystery around where she’s been. I wonder if she is sick of that song yet?
On to Episode 4 next week, and then the second round of episodes drops on Netflix on Christmas Day.
Til then, MMI Readers!
