The staff of MMI are going to give you their top 10 spooky season movies this week, and Ninetoes is kicking it off for us!
10 Bram Stoker’s Dracula- I love the book, and Francis Ford Coppola did a good job bringing the book to film. It was a stellar cast and a well-paced movie.

9 Hellraiser– “We have such sights to show you.” This movie put Clive Barker on every horror fan’s radar. The imagery used in this movie still gives me shivers.

8 Lord of Illusions– Another Clive Barker movie, and this one enters the world of magic and brings his character Harry D’Amour to the forefront. A Wonderful horror/noir movie!

7 The Exorcist– This is the first movie I saw where horror and religion were mixed and the result still gives me nightmares to this day.

6 Doctor Sleep- For anyone who has wondered what happened to Danny from The Shining, this movie gives the answers and them some.

5 The Wolfman (1941)– This movie put werewolves on my radar and fostered a life-long love our lycanthropes.

4 Schindler’s List. While not technically a horror movie, this one showcases the absolute worst and best in mankind. The worst in the depravity of things done in the name of following orders, and the best in showcasing that even one man can make a difference.

3 The Thing– One of my favorite John Carpenter films. You could taste the paranoia in this film.

2 The Fog- My all-time favorite John Carpenter film. This is a wonderful revenge film, right down to the last shot!

1 Frankenstein (1931)- My all-time favorite horror movie! I was the kid on Saturday mornings waiting for “It’s alive! It’s alive!” only to realize in my teen years who the actual monster was.
