Hey there, television lovers! It is your old pal, Ninetoes, coming to you from Ninetoes HQ. Today I am looking at episode seven of Peacemaker. I have coffee in my system and my thinking cap on, so let’s get to it!
One more episode to go, dear readers, and where it goes from here is anyone’s guess!
Last week, it was revealed what Chris’s alternate utopia was all about. This week, Harcourt pointed out some obvious things that were hidden from the audience, as well as Chris, showing us that we are pretty much living in this show from Chris’s point of view, and that was a masterstroke in writing and editing. It was the total knockout punch to the upper jaw delivered after the revelation of last week, and it was delivered in fantastic fashion.
That being said, pay attention to John Cena’s acting in the show. He delivers an award-worthy performance that can bring tears to your eyes. Yes, it is that damn good! In some respects, when the 11th Street Kids get back to their own reality, Chris gets to be the hero he always wanted to be, and even that performance is award-worthy! This was truly Cena’s episode to shine! Is this to say that the rest of the cast was bad? No, certainly not! They all held up their end exceptionally well.
The writing was spot on, and some can say that after the revelations of this episode and the previous one, Gunn might be making a political statement. Read into it what you will, but as with the rest of the season, the writing for this one was pert near flawless.
On the whole, this is the episode we have been waiting all season for. It was a fantastic mix of everything Peacemaker fans have been looking for, plus some sprinkles on top! If the series finale is as good as this show was, I am sure it will be a blast!
