Is the glass half empty or is it half full? It all depends on how you’re looking at it, but Jules is going to dive into Six of Cups through Ten of Cups to help you figure it out
Since last week, I have managed to get to a whopping level 25 in Diablo IV’s Season of the Witch. While I would like to be proud of this achievement, there are others at Memento Mori Ink who are already into the torment levels… I have some catching up to do. As I always say, there is no rest for the wicked.

On this Witchy Wednesday, we will explore the remaining five cards that exist outside of the court within the Cups Suite. Eventually we will look at the court cards in more detail, but these carry a different weight than the rest of the cards and are often used in different ways in readings. One being the Significator card, which we looked at earlier in the year when doing our New Year card readings.
Cups. Once again, these cards deal with what we are feeling. They hang heavy on emotion or what may influence our emotions and our hearts. Another theme to keep in mind is that they are ruled by water. Water is ever changing, it carves paths, it is more powerful than it looks, and it can be a creator as well as a destroyer.

Six of Cups: This card is heavy on nostalgia. When drawing the six of cups, it could mean many things from leaning heavy on nurturing that inner child (I am perpetually twelve, you better be excited if I give you a rubber duck) to family reunions, meeting up with old friends, or perhaps visiting an old childhood home. Perhaps you are even reconnecting with an old flame, your high school sweetheart, perhaps? That would be my nightmare but would make many hearts feel joy and comfort at rekindling something familiar. This card can also mean appreciation is on the horizon. Ever felt like you’re doing so much with no thank you? That could be changing. Reversed: You’re stuck in the past and have let the nostalgia rule you. Some things are better left in the past.

Seven of Cups: So many choices! Have you ever been in the situation where you waited too long to get on DoorDash to order your lunch and now you are so starving that all the choices are overwhelming you and it seems to take a million years to figure out your food? Sorry for that German-Style run-on sentence, but that is what this card is like. What is actually going to benefit you and what is your starving brain just telling you it looks delicious, but will actually be a huge disappointment? This card is telling you to take it slow and be like water… just keep swimming and go with the flow. Focus on the facts and pay attention to instinct. While this card can also indicate the beginning of a new project, it is time to focus and pay attention. Reversed: This will hold the same meaning as the upright, but with added emotions to an intense or extreme level. Be cautious. Be aware.

Eight of Cups: Ah, we meet again. This card stalked me for almost two weeks back in the fall. It did not matter what deck I used; I was pulling good ol’ Eight of Cups. While this card may stress some, it is a good indicator that you need to evaluate an area of your life. While action doesn’t need to be had immediately, it is time to start thinking about and planning the next steps. It is likely you have already detached emotionally from a situation, and while things are going well on the outside, there are eight squirrels on the inside destroying your house (hopefully not literally, that would be terrifying). It is ok if you feel sad or despondent once the realization hits, but once you start to accept that a change needs to be made things start to feel a lot better. Reversed: Are you being too hasty? Are you holding on to something too tightly? Timing is off and it is important to be honest with yourself and stop self-sabotaging.

Nine of Cups: This card is an amazing card with a ton of deep meaning. Jupiter oversees this card, which is the planet of luck and joy. Nine can be reduced to three and represents the three aspects of what makes us human: mind, body, and spirit. This card implies happiness, creativity, connection, and a time to really reap rewards. These rewards can be in all areas of your life, you must make them happen. Remember, nothing happens without action. While I am still waiting for my novel to write itself, I am not going to hold my breath on it. Reversed: Maybe check the ego and make sure that arrogance is not ruling the conversation. Look out for narcissistic tendencies in others and be ready to rest if needed. Maybe this is a good time for that PTO or vacation you have been putting off.

Ten of Cups: The cup is finally full! This card represents an abundance. Whether that is perfection or completeness (as in numerology) as we see it. While my idea of perfections or completeness seems to be an infinity number of books, cats, and art supplies, my minimalist husband would love to have maybe 20 books (he would be dead to me), one cat (deader), and probably a box of crayons (betrayal). Let’s get serious, though. This is often regarding family, community, work, relationships… we are feeling fulfilled in these areas at this time. Perhaps our teenager finally decided to get those straight A’s so she can get her nose pierced (one day), or our partner relationships at work are existing symbiotically. Reversed: There is still a lot of positiveness here, however, be ready to address a miscommunication or tend a rift that has occurred. Stay genuine and positive. Work hard to leave biases aside.
There we have it. The remaining cards of the Ace through the Ten of Cups. Next week, we will move on to the Pentacles Suite, one that I am more familiar with. Be ready Earth Signs! Our time is coming!
